Engagement: Lauren & Scott

Noe Todorovich

I love when a couple chooses a location for an engagement shoot that is meaningful to them. So when Lauren and Scott suggested Ireland's Four Courts where they had their first date, I was completely on board. (The fact that it happens to be right by Bayou where I could get an iced chicory coffee beforehand was just a pleasant bonus. But I digress...)

After Ireland's Four Courts, we headed into DC to get some outdoor shots around the Potomac and Tidal Basin around sunset. The weather was about as great as you can ask for in the middle of the summer (seriously, how lucky have we been with this summer, DC?!), and the Tidal Basin was relatively quiet. All in all it was a wonderful shoot with great people!

Here are some of my favorite shots...

Thanks for a lovely evening chatting and photographing you two, Lauren & Scott! All the best to you with the rest of wedding planning and the big day itself! XOXO

Engagement: Chelsey & John

Noe Todorovich

I’m always impressed at how much variety you can get in a 2 hour engagement photo shoot. Change of scenery and a different outfit and VOILA! Almost like an entirely separate shoot. Last weekend’s shoot with Chelsey and John was no exception. And it was super fun.

We decided to start the session in their neighborhood of Columbia Heights and bring their adorable Catahoula pup, Tallulah, along for the fun.  Naturally the bright murals and mosaics around caught our eyes.

We made our way over to the playground area of the elementary school for some fun shots and, okay, to play for a little bit. Chelsey had a great idea to get pictures of the hopscotch numbers for their wedding day: 9-27-14. And there was even a huge map of the United States painted on the ground where we took a picture of them standing where they'll get married—in Iowa, where Chelsey is from!

We then headed back to their place for a quick outfit change before heading out in hopes of having the sunset make an appearance in the shoot. We snuck in a few pictures in the building’s lounge area that was oh-so-swanky. Chelsey’s red dress was just too perfect for it. How could I resist?! And it was a little chilly outside…

Our last stop was Meridian Hill Park. The sunset efforts proved futile, but I still loved the pictures we did get. I mean, these two are so photogenic and adorable together, it's hard not to like a picture of them... (Not biased.)

Jackie & Kyle

Noe Todorovich

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Jackie & Kyle earlier this month, thanks to (the) one (and only) Milli Mike. It was delightful photographing such a sweet, down-to-earth couple...and to work with Milli! (Interestingly, it was only the second time we’ve had a photography gig together in the 10+ years that we’ve been friends! The very first being a wedding we shot years ago.)

We started the shoot in Chinatown and made our way towards the National Mall, taking photos along the way and swinging by Matchbox where they had their first date, the National Portrait Gallery and Archives. Thankfully we had amazing weather and gorgeous light, which just made the shoot that much better.

Thanks again to Milli for an awesome collaboration and to Jackie and Kyle for being so fun and easy to work with!

And now one last time, just for good measure, my favorite picture... (It just makes me so happy!)
