The first time I visited Boston was during my first New England fall road trip back in October 2005. While my friend Milli and I really just passed through very briefly, I enjoyed my time there. The fall road trip turned into a bit of a tradition, and Boston was always a stop we made as we recruited other friends to be “leafers” with us. And yes, we’re in our twenties and don’t deny that term. Or that all the retirees are much better at it and probably don’t have to sleep in the car outside Acadia National Park due to poor planning regarding lodging. But hey, it all worked out in the end, since we enjoyed an early morning hike and watching the sunrise over the park.
While I’d say I still haven’t done a lot or have much knowledge about Boston, I really enjoyed spending some time with Justine and her family, exploring Cambridge, Lexington and Concord. The day I took the bus back to NYC, I also headed into the city a little early to wander around and take pictures. I got off the T at Charles/MGH station and walked down to the water. Then I headed to Beacon Hill and Boston Common. Then I just meandered around with a final destination—that provided a very general direction—of South Station to get my bus.
I definitely plan on returning to Boston again, and I welcome any suggestions for when I do.
