The National Cathedral
Gina Todorovich
I'm coming up on my six year anniversary of living in the DC area. Craziness. It feels like just last year that my friend, Milli, and I were packing up her Corolla and driving up from Orlando, FL to Washington, DC. I'd never been to DC before September 2004.
And here I am. Six years later and somewhat . . . settled (gasp!). I've even become know to utter, tweet and otherwise share that I love my city. I'm claiming it.
Now, for some reason it seems that within a few months of moving here, I had been to some places multiple times. I visited the Air and Space Museum and Natural History Museum several times before I even made it to the National Gallery of Art. I started making a mental list of places I have not yet been and want to check out. One of those was the National Cathedral. I'd driven by it numerous times, but never actually visited it. Well, today I decided to make it happen. Why not today?
I took almost 100 pictures in all. And when we left, I saw the sign: "Services in progress. No photography please." Oops. Too late. Amara let me know the sign wasn't up when we first got there. Phew. :)
