I've wanted to visit Chicago for years, and until last weekend I'd only flown through its airports. So I didn't hesitate at all when Milli asked me and Amara if we wanted to go on a road trip to Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend, which also happens to be Amara's birthday weekend. Yes, it's about 12 hours away, but I love myself a good road trip and new adventure.
We ate lots of different food, including the quintessential deep dish pizza. Actually we had that twice. Once from Giordano's and then from Gino's East. I definitely preferred Gino's East, just for the record. I'm also going to have to take a break from pizza for an indeterminable amount of time. The experience was intense. We checked out Taste of Chicago, caught the fireworks from Millennium Park, did an architectural boat tour with Seadogs and walked. A lot. There's more to it, and there are more pictures to come. I just wanted to share a little already. :)
